Hello Nature Lovers, Parents, and Educators,
Today, I want to share with you a prose poem I wrote about a variety of birds in nature that are arrayed in blue, my favorite color.
I search for the birds splashed with blue
who flit from limb to limb
birds in blue
come to me
show your shining colors free
Who are these birds in blue?
Let me tell you true…
boisterous jays…
blue jays
steller’s jays
scrub jays
lovely bluebirds…
eastern bluebirds
western bluebirds
mountain bluebirds
though all dressed in blue
no two of them look
or sound the same
Oh, don’t forget cute, sweet buntings…
indigo buntings
and lazuli buntings
beautiful feathered friends in blue
plant a song deep in my heart
flying garden in the sky
your color moves around me
surprises my wondering eyes
Now search for your favorite bird in blue
